So the question is, how many of these did you eat at a first sitting? And did you wash them down with a decent glass of 2% or better milk?? ;-)

Well I actually ate 4 in the space of about 10 minutes! I was drinking a lovely glass of Yeo Valley Organic whole milk (blue top in the UK). I don't often go for Organic on a big level but I have to say the milk just 'tastes' better.

Here in the states the whole milk caps are red and the 2% are blue. I don't go much for organic either but the milk sure tastes better. Around southeast Michigan the place to go is Calder Dairy (http://www.calderdairy.com). Their chocolate milk is by far the best I've tasted anywhere ... and it goes great with Krispy Kremes!

That sounds great, I am slowly becoming addicted to Krispy Kremes, I'm thinking of picking up another dozen today! Any particular favorite flavors? I like the glazed raspberry filled but the powered blueberry is also up there, they could be the death of me.

By far my favorite donut would be either a cruller (the spiral one) or a custard-filled. Fruit is ok, with raspberry being particularly nice, but if I can get a dozen crullers they won't last!

The cruller was something I'd never had the pleasure of until now, they are great with a nice double espresso first thing, I've changed my walk to work to go past Krispy Kreme now. Are they big business in the US? What is it like for chain-Donut shops? Is it like starbucks? There is about 4 in a square mile in Manchester now, Starbucks that is.

Krispy Kremes are franchised here now, and can be found by the box in groceries and gas stations. We've had chain donut shops here forever, such as Dawn, Dunkin, and now the Canada-based Tim Horton's, which is probably the most popular. Starbucks aren't as plentiful unless you're in Seattle where they started, and there they seem to be on every streetcorner!
Honestly though, local bakeries do better than the chains if they try even a little. I love going to a local place in Monroe, Michigan where the donuts are about 50% larger than at the chains and you can get some serious cake in every bite.

That sounds amazing onepercent! I haven't noticed the sign outside my local, but I will keep my eyes pealed :) Thanks for commenting!

I'd forgotten about the red light! Of course, if the light's never on there's always 15 seconds in the microwave. ;-)
